1. Who we are

This website, dakotahorizons.com, is operated by Dakota Horizons Home LLC ("Dakota Horizons," "we," "us" or "our"), a social media marketing agency based in South Dakota. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website. Information we receive while providing services to clients is also covered by the written agreement with that client.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you send a message through our contact form, we collect:

• Your name and email address
• Your phone number and business name, if you choose to provide them
• The service you are interested in
• Your message and anything you include in it

Please do not include sensitive information, such as passwords, payment card numbers or health information, in the contact form.

Information collected automatically

• With each form submission, we store your IP address and your browser's user agent (a short description of your browser and device). We use these to detect spam and abuse.
• Bot protection. Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm that a real person is submitting it. Turnstile processes technical signals from your browser for this purpose only.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request information (such as IP address, pages requested and time of request) to deliver and secure the website.

We do not buy information about you from other companies.

3. How we use your information

• To read and reply to your message, and to arrange a call if you ask for one
• To provide, manage and improve our services if you become a client
• To protect our website and contact form from spam, fraud and abuse
• To keep business records and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations

We will only send you marketing emails if you ask to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.

4. Cookies and tracking

Our website does not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking tools, and we do not set tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people and bots apart; it is not used to track you across other websites.

Because we do not track visitors across websites, we do not change our practices in response to browser "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals; there is no tracking to turn off.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only as follows:

• Service providers who run parts of our website for us and may only use the information to provide that service:
  • Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the website, provides bot protection, stores contact form submissions and delivers form notifications to our inbox.
  • jsDelivr, a content delivery network, serves a JavaScript library used by our contact form. Like any website that delivers files, it receives your IP address when your browser requests the file.
• Legal reasons, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, or is needed to protect our rights, our clients or the public.
• Business transfers, if our business is merged, sold or reorganized, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
• With your permission, in any other case.

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

6. How long we keep information

• Inquiries: if you contact us and do not become a client, we keep your submission for two years after our last contact with you, then delete it.
• Clients: if you become a client, we keep your information for as long as we work together and for three years afterward, to maintain business and tax records.

We may keep information longer if the law requires it, or delete it sooner if you ask us to and we are not required to keep it.

7. How we protect information

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. Our website is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to stored submissions is limited to our team. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and rights

No matter where you live, you can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
• Correct information that is inaccurate
• Delete your information, unless we are required to keep it
• Stop sending you marketing emails

To make a request, use our contact form and choose "Privacy request" as the topic. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, usually by replying to the email address on file. We will respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.

Residents of some states have additional rights under state privacy laws. Where those laws apply to us, we will honor those rights, including any right to appeal a decision about your request by replying to our response.

9. Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please let us know through our contact form and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If we make a significant change to how we use personal information, we will make that clear on our website.
